100 lakes in Fraser Island

With its 120 km of lenght and 24 of width, Fraser Island is the biggest sand island in the world. Between rainforests, mangroves, woods of eucalyptus the animal population is very diverse. But the particularity of this sand island is the presence of more than 100 freshwater lakes, between the most limpid and crystalline in the world. Such as the McKenzie Lake, which is sorrounded by white and very fine sand and whose water is so pure that very few life forms can survive. Here you may spend a day trekking and a nice night in a tent far away from the city’s noises.
