The Khmer civilization, dating back to 1000 A.D., has left an indelible testimony to the immense archaeological complex of Angkor, which leaves the visitor astonished: hundreds of buildings, temples, monumental statues restored or wrapped with roots of majestic trees, declared World Heritage Humanity. The inhuman dictatorship of Pol Pot has left its mark in the capital Phnom Penh, which however maintains the heritage both of the distant past, and of the French colonial period.

Cambodia monsoon climate has two main seasons. A rainy season runs from May to October, coinciding with the arrival of the southwest monsoon, during which temperatures are moderately high. The maximum rainfall is concentrated in October. From November to February it is the dry season, with relatively cool temperatures that tend to increase until mid-May that records maximum temperatures about 38 °.
