Ta Keo excursion from Phnom Pehn

Therural provinces of Takeo Thakmau and are nearly unknown to mass tourism. Stop at the Phnom Chisor, the ancient sacred mountain of "Suryaparvata", where there is a temple dedicated to Shiva and Vishnu, which offers a nice overview of the valley below. Continue south to the provincial capital, Ta Keo, where there is a channel network  that reach the border to Vietnam. We sail aboard small boats through the rice fields and up to the archaeological site of Angkor Borei where we will visit the local museum.

Continue by boat to the border with Vietnam to visit the ruins of a very big tower known as the Khmer Phnom Da, and the ancient and small Ashram Maha-Russei, (place of prayer for the ascetics of the Hindu religion) probably dating from the seventh century.
