The recommended time for the trip is between October and May. The winter period, from December to February, is characterized by dry and cold weather, while the most enjoyable periods are autumn and spring: from mid-March to May it’s  the flowering season in the Himalayan valleys. In the summer months, the climate is warm in the lower valleys and mildest at higher altitude where the mountain views are generally disturbed by the clouds. The rainfall varies according to the years and the zones. Intense rainfall occurs in July and August.
