Marrakech Majorelle Gardens and YSL and Berber Art Museum with English speaking guide and van for transfer
(closed on Wednesday)
Among the gardens, the one best known for its history and special features is the splendid Majorelle Garden with its paths among plants from all over the world and decorative details in the Moroccan style. It is located outside the old city and can be a reason to take a break from the chaos of downtown. The garden, built by French artist Jacques Majorelle who moved to Morocco in the early 1900s, was bought by Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé after his death. Inside, among cacti and palms of all kinds, colorful flowers and fish ponds, stands the electric blue villa (the famous Majorelle blue) halfway between Moorish and Art Noveau styles, once a mansion and now home to the Berber art museum. The attached YSL museum (one of the main attractions) and the Berber Arts Museum are very interesting.
Stop for lunch (not included).
in the afternoon have some fun with a sidecar experience 1.30 hour - up to 2 passengers per sidecar plus driver
In the Medina's beautiful maze, through the ancient French neighborhood or in the mythical palm grove, Marrakech is full of surprises. A vivid flea market, secret gardens behind closed doors, old art deco buildings or khettaras in the palm grove are just a few of the many hidden treasures we will introduce you to on this unusual open-air ride.
Share your expectations and specific requests while your insider introduce you, thanks to an old map, to both the geography of the city and your tailor-made itinerary. Adjust your helmet, put on your sunglasses and hop on. From the stunning art deco buildings, the once lively open-air cinema, the very first hotel built in 1918, the train station dating from 1941, the former Mines Counter or the old clock shop, we take you on an enchanting time-travel in the former French district known as 'Guéliz'. Drive through the city walls and discover the heart of the Medina while driving through remote neighbourhoods where daily life seems to have stopped centuries ago. Whether the Kasbah district, a former fortress reserved for the employees of the Royal Palace, the Mellah, the former jewish neighborhood or the flea market in Bad El Khemiss taking place every Thursdays and Sundays, you will discover a rich, friendly and certainly unknown Marrakech. You can choose to enjoy a moment of quietness in a traditional Riad with a cup of mint tea before heading to the palm grove. Once a very fertile oasis, this piece of land, only known nowadays for its luxurious villas, used to give birth to the entire Tensift region more than a thousand years ago thanks to its ingenious underground irrigation systems. You could choose to make a short detour to an astonishing 1960s villa built by one of Yves Saint-Laurent's close friend or to a small remote village for a tea break. After this last stop, your insider will take you back to your hotel or any other place in downtown Marrakech.
NB: This itinerary is subject to change due to passenger's requests, holidays or weather conditions.
