Start with a drive to Ban Nakasang village followed by a short boat trip to Don Khon, one of the largest inhabited islands. Bike around the island, passing fading colonial buildings, rice paddies and other farms. Cycling is a great way to see the traditional lifestyle of Southern Laos’ people. There are plenty of chances to stop for photos or to talk with the friendly residents. Continue to the western side of the island to visit Lippi Waterfalls. Near the Cambodian border, the local people believe these falls trap bad spirits. There is a short stretch of railway track, built during the era of French colonial rule, which makes a perfect viewing platform.
